Project Description

Magna Engineers served as a sub-consultant performing electrical engineering services for this campus-wide security improvements project.  The project included the implementation of a closed circuit video surveillance system utilizing hardware which was pre-purchased by the Owner (and not included in the overall construction budget).

The design included cameras connected via copper and fiber optic cabling to networked video recorders strategically located around the campus.  Copper was used inside buildings, while fiber was used for exterior applications and lengths exceeding 295 feet.  The recorders were networked using existing fiber optic cabling between buildings wherever possible.

The design incorporated Drawings and Specifications in accordance with Department of Veterans’ Affairs design standards.
